My changing perception about Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon has always annoyed me, especially after he was announced as the new late night show host. My first thought was "they couldn't pick anyone better?" Did they forget he was in Taxi with Queen Latifah? He was in SNL. So what? That show sucks, but that's a discussion for another day. I thought I would see his first episode as a late night host out of pure curiosity. It went as I imagined. It was awkward, unfunny, and just plain uncomfortable to watch. His interview with Robert Deniro was especially tough to watch, but in all fairness to Jimmy, Deniro did not make it easy on him. The most annoying thing about Jimmy and the guests that he had on was that he was such a kiss ass to all of them. He just came off as a phony to me. Months passed and the more i saw his show the more that he grew on me. He is actually a pretty funny guy, his sketches are good, and his impressions are spot on.  I still skip through his interviews though.

Check out this impression of the very unfunny Russell Brand. Jimmy is funnier as Brand than Brand is playing himself.  "page 33, stars-they're just like us. they walk and read. imagine that. its an utter breakthrough in human behavior."
